DESCRIPTION:The Shanes Castle May Day Steam Rally\nHeld in the beautiful pi
 cturesque grounds surrounding the castle ruins in Shanes Castle Estate nea
 r Antrim. It is one of the biggest vintage events in Northern Ireland and 
 one of the premier rallies in the vintage scene across the Island of Irela
 nd. \nIt is one of the best attended vintage events and regularly attracts
  crowds of 15k -18k over the two days. There are over 800 exhibitors with 
 steam engines of all types\, vintage tractors\, commercial vehicles\, vint
 age cars\, stationary engines\, threshing mills\, stonebreakers and many o
 ther vintage agricultural and industrial machines.  \nThe working arenas 
 have threshing and baling\, timber sawing\, stone breaking and around the 
 Rally Field there are demonstrations of blacksmithing\, stone carving\, he
 dging\, fencing\, stick carving\, basket weaving\, bread baking\, butter m
 aking and other traditional skills. \nThere are steam engines rides\, a hu
 ge fairground with more than thirty rides and side shows and two mobile op
 en farms with lots of animals for the kids to cuddle and caress. In the ma
 in arena there are continuous displays of stunt driving and riding\, sheep
 dog working demonstrations\, RTC rescue demonstrations\, Birds of Prey fly
 ing displays\, Army Displays and demonstrations etc. \nCatering facilities
  cover the traditional range of fast foods such as burgers\, pasties\, fis
 h and chips\, crepes\, hog roast etc.  There is a bars\, at the Old Stati
 on. The Craft Marquee has more than 60 stalls selling all kinds of goods i
 ncluding pens\, paper products\, pictures\, jewellery\, hats\, scarves\, c
 ushions\, badges\, antiques\, jams\, preserves\, chutneys\, honey\, currie
 s\, health products and so on.   \nThe Trade Stand area has over 100 stan
 ds selling new and used tools and engineering equipment\, autojumble\, ant
 iques\, furniture\, pictures and paintings\, clothing\, toys\, garden furn
 iture\, house clearances\,  bric-a-brac and much\, much more. \nThe event
  is a great family day out as it is designed to be Family Friendly and pro
 vides entertainment for all members of the family: mums\, dads\, the kids 
 and granny and grandad too! In fact\, all ages from three to ninety three!
   \nCar parking is free and entrance charges are £15 per adult\, £ 10 f
 or students aged 11-17\, Children aged 10 and under are free and a family 
 ticket at £40 covers 2 adults and 2 students aged 11-17. \nThere is a Pub
 lic Campsite close to the Rally where caravaners and campers can stay over
  the holiday weekend.  Caravaners and campers get discounted admission to
