Stoke Row Steam Rally 2025

A very belated report here for my first time exhibiting at a mainstream show. That was the extraordinary Stoke Row 2025 with an incredible 1200 exhibitor entries this year. On display was a wide a varied selection of engines from the humble Lister D to a first for me with the beautiful Alamo engine which was situated next to me.

During the show I took possession of my first proper piece of belt driven machinery in the form of a Bamfords  model 0 corn mill. I had been looking at the purchase of this mill for some months now and both seller and myself agreed to use Stoke as a mutual show to exchange. Although the mill was seen set up on my Lister A it appears that my Lister A was running too quick with a large pulley for the mill. This unfortunately meant the mill spent the show disengaged. It may well be run off my Lister B in future as it’s a slower engine and has a much smaller pulley fitted.

The selection of engines was wide and varied , a great display of mostly British made engines with the occasional American engine mixed in.

Along with the Alamo, a personal favourite must be the gardener gas engine seen, it ran absolutely silently and the owner even held a glass over the exhaust, and no soot could be seen. A truly first class restoration.

Also on show was a wide variety of steam engines, vintage commercials, military vehicles and so much more. A truly great show and one I look forward to attending again next year.
