Thirsk Heritage Show

This was the fifth Thirsk Heritage Show organised by the North Yorkshire Group NVTEC, held at Thirsk Auction Mart on Sunday 16th Nov 2025.

For a one-day event it is well attended by both exhibitors and spectators, all helped by a dry day after a few days of wet weather. There were engines of all sizes from the humble small air-cooled through to several weighing in at around 1000kg.

Some of the larger engines were Lee Say with his rare Lister RH standing at about 6 foot tall and Ricky Mounsey with his Petter S.

There were a few of the more unusual engines present, these include A 4HP Keighley which was originally supplied via Pitt Engineering Co Ltd to Buckeye Harvester, Victoria, Australia, now back home where it belongs, back in Yorkshire. Another was our 1.1/4HP Goerge Waller Gas Engine.

Chris Sant had something different to his usual Petter Lighting Set, it was a Ruston AP with and early American Dynamo.

Other engines included Bamford, Amanco, Norman, Viliers, Ruston, Hornsby, Ottawa, Wolsely, Maytag and Gardner, unfortunately my phone has played up and some photos are corrupted. Some of the other engines there are shown below.
