Tractor & engine enthusiasts descended on the UK’s largest tractor festival in North Yorkshire over the weekend of 7th & 8th June.
Tractor Fest, the annual celebration of tractors, engines and all manner of vintage machinery, pulled in a bumper crowd in the grounds of Newby Hall and Gardens, near Ripon, North Yorkshire. Boasting about 2,500 exhibits as well as demonstrations, the show is going from strength to strength.
Tractor Fest is organised by the Yorkshire Vintage Association (YVA) and chairman Kevin Watson said it had been another ‘fantastic’ event.
Highlights of this year’s show celebrated the centenaries of Caterpillar and rare German tractor marque, Kramer. Other special features included the 80th anniversary of the post-war Fordson E27N, with a line-up of 80 of the tractors and low tension ignition stationary engines, for which there were 85 examples entered.
Fun family activities over the weekend included mini tractor driving, face painting, colouring and interactive exhibits. There are also trade stands, crafts and a choice of street food.
The event was supported by sponsors, Cheffins, Econ Engineering and Brockhills of Yorkshire.
The engine section of the show welcomed Vintage Engine Enthusiast Ltd as the section sponsor and it was great to have them on board for this years show. As well as sponsoring the show they were also in attendance with an impressive Walsh & Clark “Victoria” oil engine dating from 1910, which was made in nearby Guiseley. As is usual at Tractor Fest there were engines of all shapes & sizes. Amongst the bigger engines were 6 lorry mounted examples including another slightly later Walsh & Clark, belonging to Nigel Stonehouse of Scarborough. With well over 300 engines in total on display there is not way we can mention them all, so the pictures will have to tell the story.
Tractor Fest 2026 will be held over the weekend of 6th & 7th June and entry forms are available now on our website www.tractorfest.uk
We would like to thank all of those that exhibited at the show and all of our supporters and show sponsors for making Tractor Fest the success that it is. Without your continued support there wouldn’t be a show.
