The National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club. Over 50 years of supporting the hobby.

The National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club or NVTEC for short is the largest and one of the oldest clubs catering to the stationary engine enthusiast in the UK. The main aim of the club is to promote the preservation of agricultural equipment and to celebrate our agricultural past & present. Formed in 1967 when a few like-minded individuals got together, the club has grown to become a national organisation with over 3000 members. As well as the national side of the club there are numerous local groups in areas such as East Anglia, Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire (Notts), Shropshire Hills & many more. These local groups run their own programme of events/meetings but are all part of the larger NVTEC family.

So what are the benefits of membership I hear you say. Well, I have been a member of the East Yorks group since I was 13 and my family have been involved with the East Yorks group since it was formed in 1975. Since 2017 I have served as the chairman of the group. Some of the benefits I get from my membership include the following

  • £10million public liability cover for displaying engines, or any non-ride on agricultural equipment at shows within the UK, UK Channel Islands & the Isle Of Man.
  • Quarterly glossy club magazine “Vaporising”.
  • Access to TVO mixing licences.
  • Help with registering agricultural vehicles with the DVLA.
  • Local group meetings.
  • Group rallies / shows.
  • Club members discount at Euro Car Parts.
  • The chance to meet like minded enthusiasts from all over the country.

Many of the local groups are involved in organising events be they large scale shows such as Stradsett Park vintage Rally, or Tractor Fest. Or small crank ups, working days and many other events. The club also have written safety codes of practice which are adopted and used by not just the NVTEC but many other events throughout the country.

Club membership runs annually over the calendar year. Any new members joining after 1st October get the final 3 months of the year and the following full year included in their membership, effectively giving them 3 months free membership.
