An Open Day Near Colchester

We were invited to go to an open day on Easter Sunday where some engines would be lined up down the drive and around the house.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely 3hp Petter M.

And to follow the Petter theme, there was a line of them – it was quite nice to see a variety of different horsepower Petters! As you can see here, a lovely early twin pot 5hp model.

Not to mention a 3hp Petter with a reciprocating saw which looks to be all original! As you can see, it has had a good go at cutting some wood. What a wonderful thing!

Not only did it range from 3hp to 5hp, we then went further down the drive to find, hiding behind the hedge, a lovely example of a original 8hp Petter M.

And further scattered around the place were some lovely S types as seen below.

And a rather, nice 12/14 S type.

Enough of the Petters- moving on, there were also some lovely Rustons ranging again from some little ones and some of quite large size, as can be seen below.

Some very nice Rustons indeed, it was quite good to have a catch up with some fellow faces.

And a fairly big water pump as shown below

From what I believe, next year there will be half the amount of engines shown as of today, as the owner is wanting to make a few engines work. Which should also make an awesome day out! I would like to thank the owner, Chris for the invite. It was a lovely day out!
