With only a few days to go until Tractor Fest 2025 takes place over the weekend of 7th & 8th June, we thought we would share a quick preview of what to expect at the show.
In total there are close to 2500 exhibits entered this year, including over 1200 tractors & over 300 stationary engines, which makes the event both the biggest tractor show & biggest engine show in the UK. The engine section is kindly sponsored by Vintage Engine Enthusiast Ltd and we thank the team at VEE for their support. The show is also sponsored by Cheffins auctioneers, Econ & Brockhills.
In the engine section, the special feature is low tension ignition engines and we have over 80 examples entered. These include a pair of National Gas Engine Co M types, a hug Amanco 12 Mule Team & on numerous smaller examples including names such as Fairbanks Morse, Bamford, Ruston & Hornsby, Brownwall, Simplicity & many more.
It’s not just low tension engines though. We have a variety of working engines, including drag saws, water pumps, corn mills, log splitters & as usual a whole host of generating sets, which will be lighting up the engine pens throughout the Saturday evening.
Engine based clubs are well represented with several NVTEC area groups having stands. These include the East Yorks, West Yorks, Pennine, North Yorks, Notts, East Anglia, Lincolnshire & North East Groups. The NVTEC national are also having their display stand at the show. As well as the NVTEC stands, the North West Stationary Engine Association are also bringing along 20 or so engines for a display & the White Rose Club based at Doncaster are also having their usual club stand.
Big engines are well represented at the event again this year. We have no less than seven lorry mounted engines attending, including a Walsh & Clarke oil engine which has only recently been mounted on a wagon. There are also many more large trailer mounted examples, or engines which will need unloading with the show tele-handlers/forklifts.
With so many engines & other exhibits to see it the show promises to have something for everybody. Other exhibits include 1000’s of tractors, classic cars, vintage caravans, awning displays, model/craft tent, trade stands, motor bikes, push bikes, fairground, commercial vehicles, plus the award winning Newby Hall gardens, which are included with entry to Tractor Fest. Finally, weather permitting the Saturday afternoon will also see a flypast by the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight & their iconic Avro Lancaster.
