Tractor Fest 2026 breaks records

Tractor Fest 2026 took place in the parkland surrounding Newby Hall near Ripon, North Yorkshire at the beginning of June. The show was a record breaker on all fronts. Despite a wet start on Saturday morning, the rain stopped around lunch time and gave way to a warm and mainly dry weekend thereafter. Visitors flocked to the show in droves, with Saturday seeing a record crowd for a single day, only for it to beaten the very next day, when even more visitors descended on the site.

Exhibit wise it was also a record breaking event with over 2600 exhibits entered in total. This included over 350 engines, which was yet another record. The layout of the engine pens was changed a little this year due to the expansion of the catering/bar area and the increase in the number of exhibits. Rather than the usual pens, there were a couple of extra’s shaped around mature trees in the park, whilst some of the normal pens were extended in length to accommodate the increase in numbers. The new layout proved very popular and helped draw even more visitors around the engine display. The engine section was again sponsored by Vintage Engine Enthusiast Limited. Other sponsors of the show included Cheffins, Econ & Old Oil & Gas Engine Magazine Ltd. The support of the sponsors really helps enhance the show.

The special feature was engines made in Scotland and there were 20 such engines on display over the weekend, with the majority grouped together. There were the usual array of large engines this year with many having to be lifted into position with a forklift/tele handler. Additionally there were also 10 lorry mounted engine displays, which is another record for the show.

Saturday night saw a welcome return to the evening light up. There were over 60 engines running after dark which was great to see. The dates for next years show are 5th & 6th June, which will see the show celebrate its coming of age at 21 years. The special feature will be engines made in Yorkshire.
