INTRODUCTION TO THE EVENT
The impressive setting of Belvoir Castle at Grantham dates back to the 11th century and has been commonly referred to as ‘Bee-va’ Castle ever since due to the mispronunciation of Belvoir! Stunning parkland makes it the perfect location for events and August Bank Holiday weekend sees this historical venue hosting the Belvoir Castle Steam and Country Fair.
See huge displays of exhibits from all over the UK, with traction engines including magnificent showman’s engines and pause to listen to traditional fairground organs from bygone years. Wander around displays of vintage/classic vehicles including cars, commercials, motorcycles, tractors and military vehicles, have chat with the owners and experience the atmosphere of a traditional country fair. An action-packed arena programme will run throughout the full three days of the event providing non-stop entertainment for adults and children alike.
Visit the craft & fine food marquee, browse the trade stands and autojumble, try out the vintage funfair rides, giant inflatables complete with slides and castles and much more.
There will be a licensed bar and a good selection of catering outlets serving hot and cold food and drinks all day… a chance to relax and plan the rest of the day.
Belvoir Castle Steam and Country Fair is a fantastic day out for the whole family with plenty to keep everyone entertained all day long, however if a long weekend break is on the horizon take a look at the option of pre-booked onsite caravan/camping pitches and enjoy all three days of this event and its historic surroundings.
